If you wish to follow this section with real examples then as a minimum the disassembly files for the games are required. These are located in the Download section. You should open them up ready for the following sections.

The section also contains other files that may be of use, such as the graphics for each game.

 

It is also advisable to use the filmation viewer (or the outputs if you don't have .NET or prefer to work with text files) to cross-check your workings out.

Finally, viewing the actual map file (it is a text based file used by the filmation viewer and contains the data for each game) will shed some light into how some of the data was extracted and how the sprite numbering works.

Do not worry if the information is hard to follow, worked examples are given at the end (or if it seems to long-winded and boring, just read the examples).
